Ford ranger torsion keys?

going to lift my ranger 2001 edge 2wd. its going to have the 3 inch spindle lift my question is if i put the 3 inch torsion keys will that make a total of 6 inches of lift? ive over thought this some how and not sure if thats going to change the torsion height to add the lift or if thats going to just equal it out with the spindles leaving it at 3 inch lift.
