What size socket do I need to replace my spindle nuts on the front disc brakes of a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

Usually 15/16", but I used to remove cotter pin and remove nut with a pair of channel lock pliers, then use same to reinstall so you don't get too tight and burn up bearings.. Tighten nut, then back it up to closest hole to install cotter pin. Well sorry been a while since 86 so it's either 1-1/16" or 1-1/8", Did auto repairs over 45 yrs and never torqued nuts because hand tight is usually around 15bs. only used torque wrench on front wheel drive.
