Paddle Won't Drop Down in Bread Maker?

Mine does that too. Wait until the bread cools off and then pull the paddle out. That should just leave you with the paddle shaped hole in the bottom, depending on the specific recipe, and shouldn't rip out any huge chunks of bread.
